How do you cook chicken for recipes that say, ';cooked chicken'; in the ingredients list?

It doesn't really matter how you cook the chicken. You can boil, fry, broil or bake. As long as it's cooked and you like the flavor. How do you cook chicken for recipes that say, ';cooked chicken'; in the ingredients list?
This depends on the dish and also what part of chicken you prefer. You can grill it or buy a roasted deli chicken or saute it in a little oil, you can even boil it.How do you cook chicken for recipes that say, ';cooked chicken'; in the ingredients list?
I just saute/fry it in olive oil or even boil it in water. You can bake it, also.
You could boil it, bake it, or buy a whole pre cooked chicken at most grocery stores...whatever is easiest.
I just buy a rotisserie chicken from the store, precooked and still warm. I let it cool down and peel aways the skin and shred the meat. If it's more meat than you need to use, throw the left over chicken in a salad!
I usually use chix breast and boil it until done. Boiling it doesn't take as long and if you are going to use it in other things it moistens it back up!
I used leftover cooked chicken. If I don't have any I go to the Deli and buy a breast or two, cooked and debone it and I'm on my way :)
I use boneless chicken breasts or thighs. Depending on the recipe, you might want to cut them into cubes.

Sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Put a skillet over medium high heat and add enough olive oil to give the bottom of the pan a thin coating. After the oil is hot, put the chicken in.

This will sear the chicken, making a crust on the outside and keeping the juice inside. Brown the chicken on both sides, then reduce the heat and cook it through. Then add it to your recipe.
I would bake the chicken, covered at about 350 degrees for about an hour or until a meat thermometer tells you it is done, and or until the juices run clear. Let cool just enough so that you can work with it, or store it in the refridgerator until completely cooled, remove the skin, and cut off the meat. You could also fry up the chicken, but baked is healthier. Good luck with your recipe.
